Fresh off the Nevada pressing plant press to a very limited edition of ten Side A celebrates the life and death of Joseph Johnson's Grandpa with signature robins that sit on the record spindle. Side B features the most exciting feature the Phenakistiscope. When played this side may melt your mind, as the slow tracing lines blur into the middle and mesh with the spacious and ethereal textures. The whole album has been remastered by Joseph Johnson and been updated on BandCamp to feature said revisions. Revisions are light mastering changes. Nothing has been cut for time, nothing spared, no corners cut. Comes in textured printed sleeve w/ transparent inner for display.

[Music Review]

"Some Things Last a Long Time" is a departure from previous Stoney Point works general
musical sensibilities. The safety of a catchy chorus melody repeating and netting you is no longer stringed up to protect you.
A more scattered lyrical pattern with emphasis on drawn out experimental slowcore instrumentation leaves you to your thoughts just enough to
adhere emotional response when the songs pay off. "Some Things Last a Long Time" features the widest array of instrumentation and an
impressive percussive palette in comparison to past Stoney Point works.
Stoney Point fans may at first find themselves disappointed with this record if they have any expectation of "dream-pop"
sensibility such as on old songs like "Circling the Drain", as such touches are only seen on tracks like "Accurate Angels" which features a more experimental take on ethereal music.
These sensibilities are replaced with the slow epic instrumentation building up which can be seen on standout tracks like "We Fall in Dreams Alone" and "Blinders".
Two drum-sets, auxiliary percussion, ambience outside mic'd and recorded. This album is special because of length. The lengths went to record, the lengths went to film and the
lengths went to make some thing that will last a long time. All in all this makes Stoney Point's Sophomore album their best. A landmark in the line of what seems to be a busy workflow.

[Film Review]

"Some Things Last a Long Time" is a short film divided into 8 music videos.
They are in the correct order according to (Johnson), and the film does not have a "cohesive" story or even scenes much rather meaning can typically be
interpreted/was meant to be by editing choices. Black and white scenes, and noise are implemented to show hesitation.
Scenes of nothing seemingly important color graded different in reference to being shown already showing the dulling of repetition.
Trying to find meaning and enjoyment in nothing, can only last so long right?
"Some Things..." has power in being filmed and edited by the same person attempting to convey the experiences and feelings
of the music but can sometimes be held back by the seeming randomness of it's clips.
